Terms of Service

• CheckMyRoyalty: the online software service offered by Rowan Smeets Music B.V.
• User: any individual or legal entity that uses CheckMyRoyalty.
• Service: all functionality of CheckMyRoyalty, including but not limited to AI contract extraction, AI contract review, statement reminders, underpayment detection, rate benchmarking, dashboards, and future extensions.
• AI analysis: any extraction, score, estimate, or recommendation generated wholly or partly using artificial intelligence.

These Terms apply to any use of CheckMyRoyalty and any agreement between CheckMyRoyalty and a User.

By accessing or using the Service, the User confirms having read and agreed to these Terms.

If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain fully in effect.

CheckMyRoyalty provides software that lets users, among other things:

• upload and store royalty contracts;
• receive AI-extracted royalty terms;
• receive an AI-generated review of contract risks and strengths;
• upload royalty statements and check them against a contract;
• track expected vs. received royalty income across releases;
• receive reminders when a statement is due.

CheckMyRoyalty reserves the right to add, change, or remove functionality at any time.

The Service uses individual accounts (email and password). The User is responsible for keeping their login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs through their account. CheckMyRoyalty may revoke access if these Terms are violated or the Service is misused.

CheckMyRoyalty is intended solely for users aged 18 or older. By using the Service, the User confirms being at least 18 years old.

CheckMyRoyalty offers a free plan and paid Pro/Premium plans, billed monthly or yearly. Payments are processed by Stripe. Paid plans can be managed or cancelled at any time from the account page; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.

CheckMyRoyalty uses artificial intelligence for, among other things, contract term extraction, contract risk scoring, and rate comparisons.

AI output is for informational purposes only. It does not constitute financial advice, investment advice, a legal opinion, or a guarantee of accuracy. Users remain fully responsible for verifying extracted terms and for their own decisions.

CheckMyRoyalty aims to help users understand their contracts and statements, but gives no guarantee that AI-extracted terms, reconciliation results, or rate comparisons are complete or error-free. Users should verify important figures against the original documents, particularly before relying on them for financial or legal decisions.

Users may upload contracts and statements voluntarily. This content is used solely to provide the functionality of the Service to that user. CheckMyRoyalty does not claim ownership of uploaded documents.

All rights relating to CheckMyRoyalty, including software, algorithms, AI prompts, databases, designs, logos, text, and images, belong exclusively to Rowan Smeets Music B.V. or its licensors. Nothing from CheckMyRoyalty may be copied, distributed, or used commercially without prior written consent.

It is not permitted to hack CheckMyRoyalty, circumvent security measures, bulk-download data, deploy bots against CheckMyRoyalty, share access credentials outside your organization, reverse engineer the Service, or use it for unlawful purposes. CheckMyRoyalty may terminate access immediately in case of misuse.

CheckMyRoyalty aims for high availability but gives no guarantee that the Service is always available, that reminders always arrive on time, or that AI features are always available. Maintenance, outages, or force majeure may cause temporary interruptions.

To the extent permitted by law, CheckMyRoyalty is only liable for direct damages that are the direct result of intent or deliberate recklessness by CheckMyRoyalty.

CheckMyRoyalty is in no case liable for missed payments, incorrect AI output, incorrect contract extraction, lost profit, loss of revenue, indirect damages, consequential damages, or non-material damages.

CheckMyRoyalty's total liability is, to the extent permitted by law, limited to the amount the User has paid to CheckMyRoyalty in the twelve months preceding the claim. If no payments were made, liability is limited to €100.

CheckMyRoyalty is not liable for failures resulting from force majeure, including internet outages, power failures, outages at cloud providers, outages at AI providers, government measures, cyberattacks, war, or pandemics.

CheckMyRoyalty processes personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy. By using the Service, the User consents to this processing.

CheckMyRoyalty may amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced in advance via the website or by email. Continued use of CheckMyRoyalty constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.

CheckMyRoyalty may terminate access if these Terms are violated, fraud is established, legal obligations require it, or the Service is discontinued in whole or in part.

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
